Muromachi period NBTHK papered presentation tachi C1450 in Meiji mounts in full Japanese polish. Utsuri, graceful gunome hamon. Multiple Kirikomi. Estate find with the relative's fine condition civil war sword engraved to Edward L Loughery, Co K, San Francisco, and epaulettes to 71st regiment. Probably presented by the Meiji Gov to Capt Loughery after advising the Japanese troops aka "Last Samurai".
